Leaders as coaches
Contents: coaching differs from leadership. It constitutes a type of leadership whereby staff members are willing and able to perform their tasks. In this way staff members can have influence themselves. How can leaders still “lead”? During this training participants will be actually put to work as coaches, and in doing so will – as coaches – only communicate with leaders. Leaders will in turn communicate with the rest of the group; the staff members. A double hierarchical line will be drawn, on which the effect of behaviour will become visible from the outer to the inner ring. During this training the trainer/ process consultant will act as a coach.
Objective: developing coaching skills for leaders.
Target audience: managers and leaders who more frequently want to use a coaching style of leadership.
Issues: determining own motives, own profiles, any discipline starts with self-discipline, less is more, supervising versus letting go, insight and exercises by means of an extended model of influence, management skills, delegating, coaching from a distance, curious versus pedantic.
Issues: an extended individual intake prior to the programme is an integral part of training.
