Feedback
Contents: “yes but….” A frequently heard expression which proves that feedback has not reached the other. Since “yes, but” means "no". Outing Holland develops a wide-ranging number of programmes in which the issue of feedback is pivotal. Ranging from playful methods (feedback post/ feedback moments using a Polaroid) to more substantial feedback sessions. For any programmes and courses, the same rule applies that any participant understands afterwards what his/ her behaviour does to others.
Objective: giving information to others aimed at providing insight into his or her conscious or unconscious behaviour in order to make individuals function more efficiently.
Target audience: anyone looking for a safe but confrontational mirror of his or her own behaviour.
Issues: criticism versus compliments, a distinction between behaviour and the person in question, giving feedback, receiving feedback and asking for feedback.
Out of the ordinary: feedback is often integrated as an important part of training, a longer course or a development programme.
